This is a basic class aimed at training individuals who may be the first to arrive at an emergency. The class participant will be taught the process of CPR, how to use an AED, as well as, how to assist a choking victim. It will be interactive with an instructor and manikins while following along with a video. Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (6 seats left) West Chester Fire Dept. Headquarters Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED This class is designed for businesses/individuals that require or desire a certification in First Aid basics, injury and environmental emergencies, and CPR. This is a basic class aimed at training students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This class also teaches Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED use. It will be interactive with an instructor and manikins while following along with a video. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (1 seat left) West Chester Fire Dept. Headquarters Skills Checks Skills Checks are conducted by appointment only. This option is for those people who have completed their training on the American Heart Association (AHA) website. People who choose this option will receive no instruction, but will be tested over their skills for certification. These online courses are very convenient and can be found here: AHA Online Courses We offer this for the following courses: Heartsaver CPR/AED, Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED, and BLS for Healthcare Providers You will need to complete the online course prior to scheduling and provide us the certificate of completion at the time of testing Click Here to Register. The front doors will unlock 15 minutes prior to the start of class and will re-lock 15 minutes after.
